Jonathan Maiocco began composing around the age of twelve. In 2008, he submitted a piece to the BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship and received a phone call from Mike Post (Law and Order, Rockford Files) that he would have won, but he was too young. He was invited to Los Angeles, and met Mike, toured his studio, and watched him compose to an episode of Law and Order. The next two summers, he received a scholarship to attend the NYU/ASCAP Foundation Film Composing Workshop in Memory of Buddy Baker (2009 and 2010), his first year as an auditor and second year as a participant. Over the past couple of years, he has won several contests, including The Lynn Freeman Olson Award (2011),The Young Composer’s Challenge (2013), and the Karol Close/Hal Leonard Composition Competition (2014). He also has had a children’s piano piece published through Willis Music/Hal Leonard (Café Français). Jon has released three albums, Epic Music (2012), Epic Music II (2014), and Galaxies (2014), which are intended for commercial/advertisement placement. Recently, he won the 2nd Annual GSU Wind Band Composition Competition (2014) with his symphonic wind band piece Beautiful Innocence. He graduated from Georgia State May 9th, 2015, with a Masters in Music Composition. He is currently producing several different artists and working with several directors.
